IMPHAL, Nov 14 : NISA succumbed to 2-4 loss to GSC at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong, ending their Group B campaign in the 15th Manipur State League with just one win in 8 outings.
The comfortable 4-2 win was the third in 7 matches for GSC having beaten TRAU 2-1 and NACO 4-1.
GSC drew first blood in this high scoring encounter with Lallungmon Khongsai finding the target in the 9th minute. GSC heaped more pressure on the Thangmeiband side as Robert Chungminlal Miaso scored the team's second in the 14th minute.
NISA rallied back with Leimajam Sangkar pulling back a goal in the 15th minute before completing his second in the 35th minute and closed out the goal gap.
GSC, however, retained their lead with Mangjoel Neihsiel scoring the team's third one minute before the lemon break.
The second half saw NISA work hard to come to level terms but GSC players displayed good coordination among themselves to deny any incisive run from NISA.
To their delight, GSC who were occasionally looking to break past the NISA defence succeeded and it was Robert Chungminlal Miaso who banged in his second one minute away from time to give GSC a 4-2 finish.
