Preparation for Senapati District Olympic Games on in full swing

Senapati, Nov 14 : Preparations for 1st Senapati District Olympic Games scheduled to start by November 23, are going on in full swing. The event is to be organised by Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur (SDOAM) in line with the 50th anniversary of the association.
Despite lacking a standard basketball court saving few courts in school and colleges, the Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur has taken a bold step to construct a basketball court at Sanyi Dahrii Memorial Sports Complex Karong keeping in mind the fast growing popularity of the game in the district. The construction is underway and scheduled to be completed soon.
Speaking to media persons on the sideline of the inspection of the worksite, A Karang Rangnamei, Games and Sports secretary of SDOAM stated that preparation of the district games was in full swing.
He noted that there is no standard basketball court in the district yet and SDOAM is constructing a standard basketball court. Basketball players from Senapati district have proven their worth as the women's basketball team clinched the championship title at the recently concluded 2nd Manipur Olympic Games, 2022, he said.
