Protest staged

In continuation of their protest demanding the rollback of alcohol legalisation in the State, the Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol staged a sit-in protest at Wangkhei Angom Leikai today.
According to a press release issued by CADA, the protest was staged in collaboration with All Manipur Women Social Reformation & Development Samaj (Nupi Samaj) and Women’s Social Welfare Association around 1 pm.
The protestors raised slogans such as "Alcohol legalisation cannot be enforced in Manipur", "Rollback Cabinet decision" and "Save Manipur from alcohol abuse" among others.
Voicing the same demand, a meira rally was staged yesterday evening at Thoubal Wanghem jointly organised by the Thoubal District United Women’s Development Organisation (Thoubal Ima); All Manipur Women Social Reformation & Development Samaj (Nupi Samaj); Ningol Yaipha Thourang Lup, Wangkhem and CADA.
During the rally, many slogans were raised against the Cabinet decision.
