Ex-ADC Members body back ATSUM stand on ST demand

IMPHAL, Nov 16 : Former members of Autonomous District Councils (ADC) of Manipur, in a joint meeting today in Imphal, took three important resolutions. The joint meeting was held under the aegis of Ex-ADC Members' Forum, Manipur, according to the forum.
One of the resolutions said that today's meeting unanimously resolved to amalgamate all the previous "batches of ADC terms with the 2015 batch as one body under the platform of the Ex-ADC Members' Forum", Manipur. The second resolution is about re-affirming the earlier resolutions to urge the State Government to conduct ADC elections at the earliest. The meeting also resolved to impress upon the Government to put on hold the recruitment process till the ADC elections are held.
The third and final resolution is that the members of the forum endorse the ATSUM's opposition to the Meitei/Meetei ST demand. The meeting also resolved to support all issues which are in the interests of tribal land and rights.
