INWU silver jubilee celebration concludes

NONEY, Nov 17 : The 2-days long Silver Jubilee celebration of Inpui Naga Women's (INWU) concluded today at Nungtek-1 village under the theme, "Weaving Dreams and Dignity".
The celebration began with Jubilee Hall dedication & flag hoisting by Meikhemlu Khumba, first convenor INWU followed by a folk song and Guard of Honour by Nungtek-1 Women Union.
Dinah Khumba Irungbam, founder The Best Widow's Care (TBWC) attended the event as the main speaker.
The Jubilee celebration was carried out in three sessions- Introductory, Inaugural and Valedictory.
The Inaugural session was attended by Tamenglong AC MLA, Janghemlung Panmei and Ramningle Pame, former MDC Tamenglong as the presidium members.
Addressing the gathering, Janghemlung Panmei expressed his gratitude to INWU for inviting him and congratulated the union for organising such an important event.
Shanti Bariam, president INWU, enlightened the gathering about the history of INWU.
Ramningle Pame delivered a lecture on "Role of the women in the society" while Asha Wungnam, president Naga Women's Union spoke on "Importance of preserving our culture & tradition in the present society".
As part of the event, Luriang Khumba, former president INWU unveiled the jubilee monolith.
Releasing souvenirs & catalogue, presentations of gifts, cultural dance & folks songs were the main highlight of the event.
