GYA crowned champions of 13th Jadonang Memorial Football Tournament-2022

IMPHAL, Nov 6 : Gaidimjang Young Association (GYA) were crowned champions of the 13th Jadonang Memorial Football Tournament 2022 organised by Zeliangrong Football Association.
GYA beat Namdunlong Football Club (NFC) 4-2 thanks to doubles from Neilangam Pamei (18', 36') and Tingkaochun Gangmei (23', 46') to walk away with the coveted cash prize of Rs 2.5 lakh.
Gaipuilan Dangmei (12', 31') also scored twice for the Namdunlong team but his effort went in vain as the team failed to recover in the late stage and eventually had to content with Rs 1 lakh.
The closing ceremony cum final match of the tournament was graced by CM N Biren; Minister for TD and Hills, Letpao Haokip; Social Welfare Minister, N Dingo; Thangmeiband AC MLA, Kh Joykisan; Tamenglong AC MLA, Janghemlung Panmei as presidium members.
Prior to the title clash, an exhibition football match was played between Maniwood Club Manipur and Zeliangrong Film Forum Manipur.
Besides winners and runners up, Kakhulong Football Academy and Dimdailong Youth Club were feted with best discipline team accolade worth Rs 20,000 as Hidakshungba Youth Club took the best march past team trophy and prize of Rs 20,000. Best player of the tourney-Gaipuilan Dangmei of Namdunlong (NFC); best goalkeeper-Jiangmeichung Malangmei of Gaidimjang (GYA); top scorers (joint)- Neilangam Pamei of GYA, Gaipuilan Dangmei of NFC; player of the final match- Tingkaochun Gangmei of GYA; best defender- Lanchangpou Kamei of GYA and best team coach- Kaphun Gangmei of GYA were also feted with cash prize of Rs 10,000 each and trophies.
