MK Preshow Shimray elected UDOA president unopposed

Ukhrul, Nov 6 : Former Deputy Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, MK Preshow Shimray who is also the president of Kick Boxing Association has been unanimously elected as the first president of Ukhrul District Olympic Assocaition.
According to Worthingso Soro, Returning Officer to the election of office bearers of Ukhrul District Olympic Association, the result was declared subject to provisions of the rules and regulations and after clearance of due scrutiny.
MK Preshow Shimray was elected unopposed as new president UDOA while Leiyolan Vashum and VR Churchill as vice-presidents, AC Tamyo as general secretary, Ningacham Meiphok, Soreichan Nakhedei and Ngalayo Makan as joint secretaries and Somi Sareo as treasurer besides executive members-Ngaraipam Kasomwoshi, Yaruimung Zimik, Philawon Awungshi, Sword Ronra Shimray and Epchan Pharung who were also all elected unopposed.
The new office bearers and executive members of Ukhrul District Olympic Association (UDOA) will hold the office for the tenure 2022-2026.
UDOA Election Commission office will issue their election certificates on November 17 in Ukhrul.
Altogether 23 persons filed for nomination for various posts, but after the scrutiny of their nomination papers, 10 candidates were rejected for being unable to fulfill the election criterion.
According to source, 21 sports disciplines operating in Ukhrul District recognized by Manipur Olympic Association participate in electionee- ring process of new office bearers of Ukhrul district.
