IMPHAL, Nov 8 : KYLSC-Kachikhul and YMDO-Heirangoithong cruised into the last 8 round of the 21st Senior Men's State Level Volleyball Tournament being underway at Khuman Lampak Volleyball Court as Group leaders.
KYLSC completed their treble to top Group C with a 25-18, 25-21, 25-10 win over SDOAM-Senapati today.
In other Group C matches, SDOAM beat MRC-Mairengkhong 25-19, 15-25, 25-11, 27-25 and MPSC beat MRC in straight sets for the second win and qualified for the quarter finals as Group runners up.
Meanwhile, YMDO who beat HYDO yesterday for the first win in Group D competition went on to beat NSU Imphal 25-18, 22-25, 25-23, 29-27 for the second win and SCYC-Senjam Chirang 22-25, 25-14, 22-25, 25-21, 15-12 in a keenly fought match to emerge Group winners.
SCYC, who had also posted one win yesterday, sealed a 25-17, 18-25, 25-11, 25-15 win over HYDO to finish Group runners up and secure a quarter final berth.
In Group B matches staged today, SDC-Samurou beat AMIMYDO-Mayang Imphal 25-21, 25-23, 26-24 for the second straight win and AMIMYDO beat TRYVC- Kamjong 25-21, 22-25, 25-16, 22-25, 15-6.
The day also saw IGO-Oinam registering two straight victories, a comfortable 25-11, 25-13, 25-10 win over NYDA, Nungkangching and 25-11, 25-21, 25-22 win over CDVA, Churachandpur, to raise their quarter final chances.
