YPHU, AFC triumph in 15th Manipur State League

IMPHAL, Nov 8 : Young Physique's Union (YPHU)-Lalambung and The Athletics Football Club (AFC)-Thoubal emerged victorious in today's Group A matches of the ongoing 15th Manipur State League at Mini Stadium Bishnupur.
In the 55th match of the tournament, AFC thumped Yarkhok United FC (YUFC) 3-0 with second half flourish for the third win in as many as 6 matches.
After a goalless first half, Ngasham Bitan Singh opened the goal account by coolly converting a penalty in the 55th minute. AFC further solidified their lead with Md Rahaman scoring the team's second at the stroke of the hour mark. As YUFC kept struggling in finding their composure till late, Wahengb-am Tejkumar further extended AFC's lead with a brilliant goal in the 83rd minute.
Later in the day, YPHU beat 10-man Muvanlai Athletics 2-0 for the second win in 7 matches.
Leiphrakpam Kheljit Meitei earned YPHU lead early in the 8th minute before MA were reduced to 10-man with SL Seiminthang picking up second yellow in the 78th minute (first in 59th minute).
Lungouhao Hangshing then gave YPHU the two goal advantage with a fine finish in the 81st minute. With MA unable to pull back a goal, YPHU walked home 2-0.
