Moirang hosts Kang exhibition match

MOIRANG, May 12 : In a bid to revive and popularise the indigenous game of "Kang", , an exhibition match of Kang  was played today at Moirang Khoiru Leikai Mandop, today.
The exhibition match organised by the Moirang Thoibi Kang Association was graced by Moirang AC MLA Thongam Shanti, Moirang Thangjing Yageirel Marup president M Nodia Ngangoicha, Moirang Thangjing Phamnaiba Cheirap Loisang Ingu Khadrakpa Salam Ibochouba and Manipur Kang Association president M Jadumani.
The match was played for over 2 years.
At the event,  MLA Thongam Shanti said that the initiative taken  up by Moirang Thoibi Kang Association to  popularise the indigenous game which is inseparable to Moirang Kangleirol is praiseworthy.
Stating that the responsibility to promote Manipuri culture 'lies entirely on us,' the MLA lauded Chief Minister N Biren for his 'commitment' to save the indegenous folk of Manipur.
