IMPHAL, May 23: An appeal has been made to all concerned to help in settling the innocent people who have been ousted from their homes in connection with a brawl which occurred at Khurai Ahonggei Irabot Leirak in Imphal East district on January 2 this year.
It may be noted that two residents of the locality namely, Lairenlakpam Inao and Khwairakpam Sangai got into a brawl where Kh Sangai sustained injuries.
Addressing media persons during a press meet held today at Manipur Press Club, Lairenlakpam Meme, younger sister of L Inao said that as an outcome of the fight, a joint action committee (JAC) was formed on the same by Meira Paibis, clubs and other organisations of the locality and the JAC alleged that the incident was a life attempt made on Khwairakpam Sangai by Lairenlakpam Inao.
Later L Inao was arrested by the Police and his 83 year old mother L Sanahanbi, his wife who was nine months pregnant at that time and other members of the family including small children were ousted  from their home for a period of five years, she added.
She further informed that Kh Sangai after undergoing treatment has now recovered and L Inao has also been released after being jailed.
She went on to state that all the members of the JAC have also resigned except the convenor, RK Ongbi Liklai.
The sister of L Inao appealed to all concerned to extend support to let the innocent family members reside peacefully in their home as the situation has improved.
She also requested to all concerned to consider the deteriorating health condition of L Inao's aged mother who wish to reside in her home during her last days and to help in fulfilling the same.
