Works Minister inspects Shirui Lily Fest preparation

IMPHAL, May 23 : Works Minister Govindas Konthoujam has inspected the preparation of Shirui Lily Festival 2022 today.
The Works Minister was accompanied by chairman of Shirui Lily Festival Committee MLA Ram Muivah and they inspected Shirui foothill, Bakshi ground, TNL ground and a helipad there.
In the inspection visit, Govindas said that the preparation was hindered for a brief period by the monsoon that swept through the State in the last couple of days.
He expressed hope that the preparation might be completed in a few days if there is no heavy rainfall.
Later, the Minister also interacted with the locals residing in the foothills of Shirui foothills .
There, he urged the people to play a key role in saving the State's flower and shun deforestation.
He also said that the State Government is considering promoting the festival furthermore.
On Imphal-Ukhrul road, the Works Minister said that a land related issue in between  Flinch Corner and Mahadeva Junction hindered the  project in the past.
He assured that the State Government will repair all National Highways in Manipur by next financial year and also hold a meeting every month to see the progress of the infrastructure  development work.
