IMPHAL, May 23 : The Committee on Protection & Preservation of the Historical Rights of Koubru & Thangjing Hill Ranges (CPPKT) and Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Henglep block have reached an agreement regarding the Thangjing Hill issue and lifted the restrictions imposed by the two, said CPPKT in a statement issued today.
It may be mentioned that KSO, Henglep block put certain conditions for entering Thangjing Hill through a statement on May 5 and asked all to take due approval from the village chief concerned in advance. The condition, however, was taken seriously by another section of people and in response CPPKT asked KSO, Henglep to state its clarification on or before May 20.
In the statement which was signed by several leaders of  KSO and CPPKT, the committee said that a meeting was held today with the representatives of KSO, Henglep block at the office of DGP, Manipur and the misunderstanding on the issue was cleared.
Saying that the committee and KSO, Henglep block have withdrawn the restrictions and also resolved to desist from making unnecessary comments about the issue in the media during the meeting, CPPKT appealed to  all not to hesitate in climbing Thangjing Hill to perform religious or for any other activity.
