IMPHAL, May 24 : Wabagai Higher Secondary School will lock horns with Kakching Public School tomorrow in the U-17 boys final of the Kakching District Level Inter School Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournament organised by DYASO, Kakching/Thoubal at Keirak ground.
Wabagai Higher Secondary School reached the final beating Padma Ratna English School by 4-2 goals today as Avinash hit a hattrick.
Avinash opened the scoring as early as the 11th minute before firing home two more goals in the 15th and the 28th minute to hand Wabagai Hr Secondary School a 3-0 lead.
Padma Ratna pulled back a goal in the 29th minute via Nelson to make the half time scoreline read 1-3.
After the break, Wabagai Hr Secondary School retained the three goal cushion with Y Vikash finding the target in the 52nd minute.
Padma Ratna English School returned with Nelson finding another goal in the 53rd minute but failed to sustain momentum and eventually conceded the game 2-4.
Elsewhere, Kakching Public School got a bye.
In the meantime, Martin Grammar English School will play Sanatombi High School for the U-14 boys title.
Md Maj scored twice to hand Martin Grammar English School a 2-1 win over Kakching Public School and a place in the final.
Md Maj broke the deadlock in the 29th minute before L Bikash of Kakching Public School pulled level in the 36th minute. The game was almost heading towards a penalty shoot-out as the two sides were unable to convert their chances but a last gasp goal by Md Maj in the stoppage time helped Martin Grammar English School seal the final berth.
Meanwhile in the second semi-final match of the U-14 boys competition, Sanatombi High School edged out Padma Ratna English School 4-1 to set up a final date with Martin Grammar English School.
V Bikash netted twice in the game including the opener (20', 40') while Rakesh (24') and Hiraj (25+2') added a goal each.  
The consolation goal for the Padma Ratna English School was scored by Ch Regan in the 45th minute.
