CVFA edge past AYVFA 3-1 in 4th Sangai Trophy

IMPHAL, May 25 : CVFA, Chajing sealed a 3-1 win over AYVFA, Yairipok in the Group B opening league match of the ongoing 4th Sangai Trophy Veteran Football Championship here at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.
CVFA had a slender 1-0 first half lead as Y Jotin opened the scoring in the 29th minute before L Saolin made it 2-0 with a 37th minute strike. AYVFA, who were under pressure for major part of the game pulled back a goal in the 57th minute of the game but their hope of equalising faded soon enough as S Binodkumar made sure CVFA wrapped up the game 3-1 with a fine strike in the 59th minute.
Elsewhere in another Group B league match, FC Imphal played out a goalless draw with SVA, Khongjom Keirak.
