IMPHAL, Jun 26 : IMSUC, Heingang eased to fifth straight win in 36th Senior State Sepaktakraw Championship men's regu Group A competition as SWC, Hiyanglam secured third Group B stage win on the trot.
Having beaten SAIRC-A and YAWA-A yesterday at YAWA Indoor Hall, IMSUC got the better of MPSC-A 21-16, 21-11 before easing to 21-10, 21-13 win over PUC-B for the fourth victory. IMSUC then ended MPSC-C's three game winning streak with a 21-16, 22-10 beating for the fifth win.
Meanwhile, SWC, Hiyanglam opened Group B winning account with an easy 21-8, 21-10 win over ALSA, Top Siphai and went on to beat SAIRC-A 20-22, 21-19, 21-15 and SAIRC-D 21-7, 23-21 for the third win on trot.
Having lost to YAWA-B and PUC-A in the previous matches, SAIRC-A suffered a third loss to SAIRC-A but redeemed themselves by securing wins in the last three matches to cap their campaign on a high.
SAIRC-A ended their losing streak by securing a 24-22, 15-21, 21-17 win over MPSC-B. They secured second win beating ALSA 21-7, 21-10 before completing their campaign with a 21-6, 22-20 win over SAIRC-D.
Having secured a win in two Group A matches yesterday, MPSC-A also kept their semi-final hopes alive by securing two wins in three matches today. They kicked off today's campaign with a 21-8, 21-14 beating of PUC-B, Kairang but lost to IMSUC in the second match before beating SAIRC-C 21-11, 21-14 in the fifth match.
Having beaten MPSC-A for the first win yesterday, MPSC-C were able to beat PUC-B 21-8, 21-14 and SAIRC-C 21-10, 21-17 for the third straight win before losing to IMSUC in the fourth encounter.
The day also saw MPSC-B beat SAIRC D 21-13, 21-11; YAWA-B beat PUC-A 16-21, 21-19, 21-16; PUC-A beat ALSA 21-16, 21-11 and SAIRC-D beat ALSA 21-11, 21-14 in Group B league matches staged this morning.
In other Group A league matches, SAIRC-B beat SAIRC-C 22-20, 21-11 for the second win but lost to MPSC-C and MPSC-A in the third and fourth match respectively.
YAWA-A also secured a 21-15, 21-11 win over SAIRC-C before beating PUB-B 25-24, 17-21, 21-16 for the second win in four matches.
