Training programme concludes

Thoubal, Jun 29 : The 2-days "Training cum production on Thang Leiteng Haiba" organised by Association For Paona Memorial Arts And Rural Development Services (APMARDS) under the aegis of Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi concluded today at APMARDS Auditorium Hall in Thoubal Wangkhem.
It was attended by K Sanathoiba Sharma, Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee and director HLMTTCA Irilbung; APMARDS president, W Mohindro; JNMDA Imphal retired Guru, P Dhanajit Singh and Government Dance College Imphal guru, A Nandita Devi as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, K Sanathoiba Sharma elaborated on the importance of Thang-Ta and stated that it is the only traditional martial art of Manipur.
APMARDS secretary, K Hemchandra Sharma mentioned that Thang-Ta has now been added in the syllabus for schools, colleges and universities to provide its benefit to the people and preserve the art form.
Later, the dignitaries presented participation certificates to 25 students/artists taking part in the programme.
