Kang greetings

IMPHAL, Jun 30 : Chief Minister N Biren Singh has extended his best wishes to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Kang (Rath Yatra) festival which falls on July 1.
In a statement, the Chief Minister said that the celebration of Kang festival in the State begins on the second day of 'Ingen' month of the Manipuri calendar and ends on the tenth day.
He added that people from all walks of life irrespective of caste, colour and gender turn up to participate in the procession of 'Kang Chingba' with the belief that holding the ropes and pulling the chariot carrying the deities will wash away all sorrows of life.
The Chief Minister also offered prayers to Lord Jagannath on this occasion to shower the State with joy, prosperity and peaceful coexistence among all communities.
With the arrival of Kang, Th Satyabrata Singh, Speaker, Manipur Legislative Assembly also joined in conveying his heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur.
He expressed hope for this festival to bring success, prosperity and happiness to everyone. He urged the people to gather enough strength to fight all evils and move forward in life with optimism and courage.
