Dr Nunglekpam Premi Devi
On the successful tenure of 8 years of Central Government (Bharatiya Janata Party, BJP), the Government of Manipur is on the verge to observing the “Seva, sushasan and Garib Kalyan” owing to “Service, Good Governance and Welfare for poor”. This very venture novel public program is marking the completion of the eight years of Shri Narendra Modi ji led Government and is being organized across the country, India at different State capitals, district headquarters, Morchas, Mandals, and as well as Krishi Vigyan Kendras. The underlying theme to Prime Minister’s work vision “Seva, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan”, over these last eight long years is definitely pledging to achieve hundred percent saturation of all the schemes provided to the public.
The project investment under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) is itself a flagship scheme launched for focused and sustainable development of the fisheries sector in the country. The program “Gujarat Gaurav Abhiyan” is a multiple development initiative including improving water supply in the region, along with boosting the connectivity and enhancing the mantra, the ease of living.
The Jal Jeevan and Swachh Bharat Mission, is the Government’s mission top priority. The plastic waste management, biodegradable solid waste management, grey water management and faecal sludge management (The Indian Express June 10, 2022).
The “Model Village” scheme, the various schemes and initiatives for the welfare and empowerment of women “Nari Shakti”, Government’s efforts for youth development, enabling the youth to achieve their dreams and fulfill their potential in different sectors and contributing to National progress, public participation and interaction, sharing the details of reforms in the field of “Ease of Doing Business” which again is also for widespread prosperity and encouraging entrepreneurship guided by the principle of “Reform, Perform and Transform” in the pursuit of making India as the fastest growing major economy in the world and building a better country.
According to a brief study of Government’s manifesto 2022, the BJP led Government is strongly committed to protecting the State’s territorial integrity and pledge in preserving the rights of the indigenous people with their colorful rich cultural heritage. Other attractive source in the major eco-diversity tourism projects includes the development of the ‘Follow Foothill train’ (FO-FO train), Loktak Mega eco-tourism project. The manifesto clearly mentioned the free distribution of Scooty to all the meritorious college going girls, providing incentive under ‘Rani Gaidinliu Nupi Maheiroi Singi Scheme’, establishment of Manipur Skill University and advanced standard of health care services center. Accidental insurance coverage to all fishermen, providing Chief Ministergi Hakchelgi Tengbang scheme and Ayushman Bharat, interest free loans for MSMEs, and the expansion of people centric scheme ‘Go to Village’, ‘Go to Hills’, ‘Meeyamgi Numit’, ‘CMda Haisi’, ‘Lairik Taminasi’,  ‘Hill Leaders’ Day’, ‘School Fagathansi Mission’ etc.
According to Government’s, ‘Rhythm of progress’, there seems to be meaningful appreciation of ‘Achievements’ rolling out clearly. Considering the State’s reports, the schemes taken up so far are ensuring development. Preserving and protecting the integrity of Manipur and promoting diverse cultural identity and the demand for Inner Line Permit System has been fulfilled. Naming of Mt. Harriet of Andaman and Nicobar to Mt. Manipur is also one good example.
