Workshop cum production concludes

BISHNUPUR, Jul 2 : The 10-days long workshop cum production on Thang-Ta Lanjang Lichat organised by Thoibi Thang-Ta & Cultural Association Moirang under the theme, " A Glimpse of War and Warfare of Manipur" concluded today at Moirang.
The programme conducted with the support of Sangeet Natak Akademi- National Academy of Music, Dance & Drama, New Delhi was attended by Thoubal District Thang-Ta Association secretary, Sarangthem Tiken Singh; Thoibi Thang-Ta & Cultural Association Moirang president, K Bidhu Singh; and social worker K Pishak Singh as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, S Tiken stressed on the need to educate the youths about the only indigenous Martial art of Manipur.
Stating that Thang-Ta was used for thousands of years to defend the State from foreign invaders, S Tiken said, "Youths should learn and take inspiration from the use of Thang-Ta Lanjang Lichat by their ancestors".
Later, members of Thoibi Thang-Ta & Cultural Association Moirang also demonstrated different forms of Thang-Ta Lanjang Lichat to the audience.
