CCpur, Jul 2: Saikot AC MLA Paolenlal Haokip today handed over seedlings and other planting materials to 60 farmers of Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts.
It may be mentioned that 10 farmers were drawn from each of the six assembly segments of Churachandpur and Pherzawl
The planting materials were provided by District Horticulture Department, Churachandpur as alternatives to the illicit poppy plantation.
As part of the Chief Minister’s War on Drugs 2.0 campaign, the Horticulture & Soil Conservation Department has been promoting horticulture crops as alternatives to poppy and raising awareness about the harmful afftect of poppy cultivation.
