Kimneo Haokip Hangshing launches free EDS in CHC Saikul

KANGPOKPI, Jul 2 : Saikul AC MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing today launched a free Essential Diagnostic Service in Saikul under National Health Mission to provide comprehensive, affordable, accessible, and quality health care service to the citizens.
Speaking on the occasion, Kimneo Haokip stressed on how timely detection and treatment have emerged as the need of the hour.
"Diagnosis has not probably received so much attention and acclaim as it has now, during a worldwide pandemic when detection and timely treatment have clearly emerged as the need of the hour as it helps improve patient care, contributes to protecting a patient's health and in some cases even helps limit healthcare spending", she added.
The local MLA continued that Saikul is blessed to have such a diagnostic service in partnership with Krsnaa Diagnostics which offers a pan-India world-class diagnostic facility with the latest technology as such technologies have revolutionized healthcare by guiding timely medical intervention.
She applauded the role of the Central and State Governments in rolling out various healthcare initiatives for the citizens, including those in remote areas like Saikul AC.
She also appreciated the officials of Krsnaa Diagnostic Private Limited for partnering with the Health Department (CHC Saikul) in rolling out free diagnostics services in the area.
Appreciating the CHC Saikul team led by Dr John Lupheng, MO CHC Saikul, for the wonderful citizen-centric healthcare services, Kimneo Haokip expressed hope that the team would continue to ensure the success of the implementation of free diagnostic services in the health centre.
She also assured to work closely with all stakeholders in addressing various important issues.
Medical Officer In-Charge, CHC Saikul, Dr John Lupheng highlighted the role of the Centre in ensuring healthcare services to the citizens, in line with the goal of the National Health Mission.
He informed that despite the shortage of manpower, CHC Saikul has been working towards making healthcare comprehensive, affordable, and accessible to the citizens.
He further said that with the launching of the free EDS, grievances of the citizens with regards to the diagnostic test will be alleviated to a great extent as the number of diagnostic tests which can be availed in the centre will extend to 54 from 14.
Later, an interactive session was also conducted wherein the MLA assured to address the issues or suggestions put forth by the staff for better health care services in CHC Saikul and to pursue the opening of CMHT enrolment counter in the Health Centre.
Kimneo Haokip Hangshing also handed over Mementos from the MO i/c CHC Saikul to members of Rogi Kalyan Samiti, CHC Saikul namely, Thongjalun Mate, ex-MDC ADC-Sadar Hills; Seimang Lupho, president Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai and Lamgouthang Chongloi, president KSO Saikul Block in appreciation of their contribution in ensuring a conducive environment for the growth and development of the health centre.
Athokpam Surjit Singh, Field Manager, Krsnaa Diagnostic Private Limited also spoke on the occasion.
