Meira FC Tekcham lift VSO trophy

Thoubal , Jul 1 :  Meira FC Tekcham  lifted the VSO Trophy-2022, following their 3-0 win over PUBG United Angtha at Tekcham High School Playground on Thursday.
The  9 a-side men's open football tournament organised by Veteran Sports Organization (VSO) Khongjom Circle was participated by 19 teams clubbed into six groups.
In the final match, Meira FC Tekcham beat PUBG United Angtha by goal 3 - 0 and took home the trophy as well as a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh while the runners up received Rs 70,000.
The star of the match was Bidyasagar of Meira FC Tekcham as he scored two back to back goals in the 39th and  40th minute and gave his team the big win while the final goal of the match was struck by Netrajit in the 50th minute.
The award for best disciplined team of the tournament was given to Tiger Camp FC while Mahesh of Meira FC  was conferred the best player award.
The other individual awards winners are   Budhichandra (best goalkeeper), Bidyasagar (man of the final match),  Roshan (best defender), Yaiphaba of  SWC Keirak (highest scorer) and Amarjit of PUBG United  (best midfielder).
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by YAS Minister Govindas Konthoujam, Wangjing-Tentha AC MLA Paonam Brojen, Wabagai AC MLA  Dr U Deven , BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary L Deven, Sapam GP Pradhan S Rameshwor and Tekcham GP Pradhan L Iboyaima.
