1st Basanta Kumar Memorial FootballYOSC, Golden FA and Poloi Sports School post emphatic wins

IMPHAL, Jul 2 : Poloi Sports School, Golden FA and YOSC-Khurai secured emphatic wins today as Pakhangba Football Academy (PFA) and KSYC, Khurai played out a 3-3 draw in the ongoing 1st Basanta Kumar Memorial Football Tournament (5-a-side 35 kg).
In the first match of the day (Group A), PFA and KSYC were evenly matched in terms of possessions and number of chances created and eventually played out a 3-3 draw.
Md Nasif drew first blood in the 9th minute to put the Khurai side ahead but Sambay pulled the equaliser two minutes later.
The parity did not last long as Md Wasim scored in the 12th minute to help KSYC regain the lead and Bikash further extended the lead in the 16th minute.
Sambay came to PFA's rescue once again by scoring his second after 17 minutes to reduce the gap before Univash scored the equaliser in the 19th minute.
The Group B encounter between Poloi Sports School (PSS) and Red Machine FA turned out to be a lopsided affair as the former team fired 9 goals past the Red Machine FA who managed only one goal.
Lamnganba (8', 24', 32') and Victor (13', 29', 35') scored three goals each for the winning side after Naoba (5', 10') opened the scoring and went on to complete his double. Island also added a goal to help PSS secure the big win while the lone goal for the losing team was scored by Yaiphaba in the 27th minute.
Later in a Group C league match, Golden FA rode on David's sublime performance to notch up a comfortable 7-2 win over Langei FA.
Ridish struck a brace (7', 11') to give Golden FA a positive start before David ran riot and pumped in five goals alone (15', 20', 31', 34', 39') to ensure his team a big win. In the meantime, S Brainny (19') and T Khambaton (38') scored for the Langei side.
Elsewhere in the last match of the day (Group D), YOSC Khurai thrashed RFCC, Keinou by 10-1 goals as Punshiba starred with three goals (11', 13', 20'), and Sohail (25', 28') and Farish (29', 31') hit braces.
It were Ejas (1') and Sakip (5') took their turns to add a goal each after teasing and mounting pressure on the RFCC backline early on.
M Lanchenba netted the only goal for RFCC in the 12th minute of the match.
