IMPHAL, Sep 27 : KYVO&SWC-Khunpham rode on N Supreme's brace to prevail 3-0 over UFC-Bishnupur for the sixth straight victory in the ongoing 1st L Itomcha Singh Memorial 1st Division Football League.
The result also helped the Khunpam team become runaway leaders with 18 points and two games left to play (vs LYLL on October 1 and OSA on October 7). The closest rivals are UFC-Bishnupur who have registered three wins and settled three games in draws off 7 matches.
L Bolen fired home the opener for KYVO&SWC in the 8th minute while N Supreme added the two goals in the 35th and the 74th minutes to break UFC's 6 games unbeaten run.
Later in the day, OSA edged past UKCCL 2-1 in an Oinam derby to open their winning account in 5 matches.
O Tondonba (12') and Malemnganba (28') scored for OSA whereas Krishnakanta scored the only goal for the losing side in the 27th minute.
LYLL-Leimaram will play TYDA-Toubul in the next match on September 29 from 1 pm before UFC take on KYVO-Kwasiphai in 2.45 pm.
