2nd AMFA Cup : Simaran hits thrice off the bench as KYVO rout TRUGPU 5-0

IMPHAL, Sep 28 : Soraisam Simaran came off the bench to score a treble as Kwasiphai Youths Volunteer Organisation (KYVO) crushed TRUGPU-Nambol 5-0 in a Group B match of the ongoing 2nd AMFA Cup.
The Kwasiphai team enjoyed upper hand from the word go but had to face stiff resistance from TRUGPU at Artificial Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak. KYVO were however rewarded for their hard work as Jr Jonitson Chiru found the breakthrough in the 38th minute to enter the break with a slender 1-0 lead.
After the break, star of the day Simaran who came in for Jonitson Chiru in the 46th minute doubled the advantage with a brilliant finish just after two minutes before Taorem Kelvin set up the course for a whitewash with another goal in the 63rd minute.
KYVO continued to dominate the proceedings as TRUGPU showed no sign of recovery and it was Simaran who rose again to chip in his second in the 71st minute and made it 4-0 before completing his hattrick with another clinical finish three minutes into the stoppage time (90+3').
The day also saw Youth Organisation Sporting Club (YOSC) played out a 3-3 draw with Langching Youth Games Social Educational and Development Association (LYGSEDA). Khutheidam Nawaz Shah  netted twice for Youth Organisation Sporting Club (YOSC) but his effort went in vain as LYGSEDA fought back to salvage a 3-3 draw.
YOSC had a positive start to the game dominating the earlier proceedings and went ahead after 25 minutes with Khutheidam Nawaz Shah finding the back of LYGSEDA net. YOSC's celebration continued with another goal next minute when Laishram Daniel Khuman caught LYGSEDA defence by surprise yet again and slotted home the second goal.
LYGSEDA also rallied back and halved the deficit with skipper Th Jangneithang beating YOSC keeper in the 28th minute. But YOSC found another through Nawaz Shah in the 30th minute to enjoy a two goal cushion.
Jangminlal Haokip then made sure LYGSEDA entered the break with a one goal deficit thanks to a beautiful effort in the 44th minute.
After the break, hard working LYGSEDA who had gone down by 1-3 goals to LYCC in the previous encounter, managed to draw level with Ngamtinsei finding the target in the 54th minute.
With the competition opened yet again, the two sides traded numerous runs in search of the winner but ended up sharing a point each as the scoreline remained unchanged till the final whistle.
