Modi ji’s  Maa passed away at the age of 100(running). Everyone wants to pay last respect and homage to the departed soul and join the ultimate ritual in person. But, Narendra Bhai didn’t allow doing so; only Adani ji and a few local leaders were present by chance. Modi ji himself came for the last rites and left for his duty. What a spirit! What a man! What a message! This does not mean that he has little love and affection for his mother. According to an unauthenticated source, Saheb was sobbing like a child inside the special aircraft.
“The demise of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s revered mother Heeraba brings to an end the life of an ascetic. Each and every Swayamsevak of the RSS offers tributes to the departed soul …May the departed soul attain Moksha. Om Shanti” – from Mohan Bhagwat ji.  “Great Challenges come before Hon. PM Shri Narendra Modi ji and he always deal with them greatly. Salute to his commitment to tradition and culture”, Rakesh Sinha RSS ideologue tweets.
Hiraba is survived by one daughter and five sons – Vasantiben (daughter), Narendrabhai, Somabhai, Amritbhai, Prahladbhai, and Pankajbhai. Hiraba or Heeraba or Hiraben or Heeraben – all are correct – the name of Narendra Modi’s mother. She breathed her last in the wee hours of 30th December 2022, at the U.N Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre.
Prime Minister Modi ji said on the sad demise of his  beloved mother – newspapers nationwide quoted him -“A glorious century rests at the feet of God. I have witnessed three qualities in my mother; the journey of a tapasvi (saint), a selfless worker and a life dedicated to values (West).” “A glorious century rests at the feet of God…In Maa, I have always seen a confluence of three things –  journey of an ascetic, work of a selfless karmayogi, and a life dedicated to values (North)”. “A glorious century rests at the feet of God… In Maa I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values (South)”.
Mother has no enemies.  Even the political adversaries bow down before Maa.“The news of the demise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraba is extremely saddening. At this difficult hour, I extend my deepest condolences and love to him and his family”- from Rahul ji. “Condolences to PM Narendra Modi ji on the passing away of his mother, Heeraben Modi. I pray that her soul rests in peace. In this hour of grief, I hope that he and his family members find strength”- from Didi Kolkata. “Dear PM Modi, we all know the emotional bond you had with your beloved mother Hiraba. The grief of losing one’s mother is too hard to bear for anyone.I am deeply saddened and no words can describe how sorry I am for your loss”- Stalin from Tamil Nadu.
The US President - “  Jill and I send our deepest and heartfelt condolences to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the loss of his mother Heeraben Modi  and our prayers are with the  Prime Minister and his family at this difficult time” .
Hiraba’s mortal remains were taken to her youngest son’s residence where she lived. Modi ji went straight to her. Later Modiji with his brothers shouldered her for some distance before putting her in a van. Modi ji accompanied her journey till the crematorium in Gandhinagar. The last simple rites were attended by family and friends. Besnu ceremony ( Sorad ) will be held on Sunday  at Vadnagar village, Mehsana district.  Your presence there may not be required. Manipuris are very sentimental and emotional people, and everyone knows about that. A few years back, on Ram Madhav ji’s mother’s last tribute ceremony day held in NDMC Hall, New Delhi, half the hall was full from our side.
Just after performing the last rites of his beloved mother Shri Narendra Modi attended the scheduled duties and programmes including the flagged off ceremony of the Vande Bharat Express, connecting Howrah to New Jalpaiguri. He also inaugurated the Joka-Taratala line of Joka-Esplanade Metro Project and also dedicated four railway projects to the nation. Didi , the CM of Bengal was pleasantly stunned by the PM’s commitment to his duties and she expressed her sincerest gratitude to Narendra ji for attending the function even on the day of his mother’s sad demise.
“Give me a good mother and I shall give you a great nation (quoting Napoleon) and our PM Modi was blessed with a good mother, which is a fortune for the world”, Shri Biren Singh said, while giving a floral tribute to Modi ji’s mother.
The whole nation knows that Modi ji sleeps hardly 3 hours a day, and sometimes even less than that. He works even on holidays and he has not taken leave. And most surprisingly, so far he has not fallen ill seriously. His mother’s blessings are always with him and perhaps the Almighty is also obliging.
“My mother is simple as she is extraordinary – just like all mothers”, Narendra Damodardas Modi.
