LCCC, NAPSA script comprehensive victories in Veteran T-20 Tourney

IMPHAL, Jan 30 : LCCC-Lilong Chajing and NAPSA-Kha Imphal kicked off their Group B campaigns in the 10th Manipur Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament on winning notes today at Luker ground.
In the first match of the day, LCCC crushed KCC-Kongba by 8 wickets chasing down a target of 54 runs for their first win.
KCC who won the toss and chose to bat first had to bundle out for a paltry total of 53 runs in 15.4 overs L Krishna (3/12) and Akbar (3/11) and Sanjit (2/9) of LCCC devastated their line up with ease. LCCC then finished off the chase in 10.2 overs riding on an unbeaten third wicket stand between Srinivashan (9) and L Krishna (14) after Rakesh (14) and Sanjit (12) fell to Robertson and Janab of KCC.
L Krishna who added 14 runs and picked three wickets was adjudged man of the match.
Later in the second Group B match, NAPSA cruised to a 9-wicket win over YUCC-Kwakeithel riding on an unbeaten half century by Thoithoi (56) in the chase.
YUCC opted to bat first after winning the toss but could amass only 88 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs as NAPSA bowlers throttled the innings well with economical bowlings.
Tomba scored the highest 25 runs for the Kwakeithel team as Borjendro (11), Shibananda (12) and Somorjit (15) followed suit.
The innings saw Ibobi and Bhogendro claim a wicket each while maintaining good economy in their spell of 4 overs.
NAPSA had an easy chase with Thoithoi making the most of the runs with Bhogendro (24) who was dismissed by Somorjit of YUCC. Symon was also unbeaten on 5 with Thoithoi as NAPSA posted the winning 89 in 13.3 overs.
Thoithoi Moirangthem was eventually adjudged man of the match.
