27th Liangmai Sports Meet concludes on peaceful note

Senapati, Jan 30 : The 27th Liangmai Sports Meet which was organised by Liangmai Sports Association (LSA) Assam, Manipur and Nagaland concluded with a peaceful spirit on January 25 after a fortnight of sporting activities (from January 10).
The event held at Oklong (Guang Phungning) village, Senapati district saw 59 teams from different villages of Liangmai community from Assam, Manipur and Nagaland participate in various teams and individual events- Football, Volleyball, Badminton etc.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh graced the opening function as chief guest; L Susindro, Minister for PHED and CAF & PD as guest of honour besides Maharaja L Sanajaoba, Member of Rajya Sabha; Awangbow Newmai,  Minister for Water Resources and Relief & Disaster Management; Nemcha Kipgen, Minister for Textile Commerce and Industry and Cooperation Department among others as presidium members.
Amidst the sports meet, new officer bearers of LSA were also elected to fill vacant posts after few members expired during their tenure.
The event was made more complete and beautiful by the presence of several Liangmai artists including dancers, comedians, freestylers, designers and cultural dance troupes from different villages.
The event was also broadcasted online on by The Makuilongdi Express and other social media vloggers via YouTube and other platforms.
The LSA organising committee also thanked and honour the patriotism and sacrificial hospitality of the host village, i,e Oklong (Guang Phungning) village, for rendering their tireless services from the beginning till the end.
LSA Organising Committee also wished all the participant teams and villages to come and participate again in the next LSA Sports Meet, which is going to be held in Samziuram Village, Paren district in Nagaland, 2026.
