MNCA Super Plate Tournament 2023-24Sanathoi picks six as ASKDO seal 72 run victory over UCC

IMPHAL, Nov 28 : Sanathoi enjoyed a six wicket haul to lead AKSDO-Khangabok to a 72-run victory over UCC-Uripok in a Group A match of the 3rd MNCA Superplate Tournament at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium today.
AKSDO put up a fighting 168/9 in the allotted 40 overs after put in to bat first and successfully bowled out UCC for 96 runs within 26.1 overs to seal the comprehensive victory courtesy exceptional bowling performances from Sanathoi (6/29 in 6 overs) and Akash (3/32 in 6.1 overs).
 Chinglensana 44 and Samson 41 were the main run getters for AKSDO as Bishorjit (4/29 in 8 overs) and Jenish (2/25 in 8 overs) of UCC kept the strike rate under control.
For UCC, Bishorjit scored the highest 30 while Nelson and Anson added 11 and 10 runs respectively.
Sanathoi eventually walked away with the man of the match trophy.
In another Group A match staged at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, WYC-Wangkhem sealed a 67-run victory over MPSC on the back of a crucial unbeaten half century from Borish (72-ball 55).
WYC chose to bat first and posted a modest total of 164 runs for 9 in allotted 35 overs despite Borish scoring a half century and Herokumar adding 49 runs. Kingson (4/23 in 7 overs) and Sangker (3/28 in 7 overs) of MPSC combined well in this innings to share a bulk of 7 wickets.
MPSC, however, faltered in the chase and ended up scoring 97 for all wickets down as Mangi (3/25 in 6 overs), Roshankumar (2/13 in 4 overs), Biteshwor (2/19) and Rajesh (2/2 in 1.3 overs) of WYC put in a concerted bowling effort.
Borish, who shone with his bat earlier, also picked a wicket in this innings and was eventually adjudged man of the match.
Elsewhere at Model Hr Sec School and Oriental College Ground, PCC-Mayaikoibi registered a comfortable 8 wicket win over YUCC-Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai in a Group B encounter.
YUCC were bundled out for a meagre total of 116 runs in 36.1 overs after electing to bat first before PCC's Ch Tyson produced a man of the match performance by hitting 69-ball 69 to steer his team to winning 118 for 2 in 28.1 overs.
N Rohit 18, N Sanjit 15 and Th Shyamchand 10 were the main run getters for YUCC in their dismal innings which saw L Ronald (3/30), S Rohit (2/17), M Lucky (2/18) and Ajay Kumar (2/26) of PCC dismantling their rivals' batting line up.
