Equipped and Classic Benchpress NationalsState sub-junior teams finish first runners up

IMPHAL, Nov 29 : Manipur sub-junior powerlifting teams secured first runners up titles at the National Equipped and Classic Benchpress Championships which was held from November 22 to 26 in Bangalore.
In the equipped competition Manipur won 8 gold, 6 silver and 4 bronze medals.
The gold medals were won by Sarjubala Sagolshem in the sub-junior 63 kg category with a 65 kg lift, Konsam Rosida in the senior women's +84 kg category with a 95 kg lift, Neha Aheibam in the Masters-2 84 kg category with a 50 kg lift, Irom Indrani in the Masters-3 47 kg category with a 35 kg lift, Soraisam Ibetombi in Masters-3 52 kg category with a 30 kg lift, Salam Lena in the Masters-3 84 kg category with a 50 kg lift, Th Subadani in the Masters-4 63 kg category with a 30 kg lift and RK Sanatombi in the Masters-4 69 kg category with a 25 kg lift.
Salam Lena was adjudged best lifter (equipped) in Masters-3 category as Th Subadani was declared best lifter in Masters-4 category.
State athletes also amassed 8 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals in the classic competition.
Sarjubala Sagolshem (60 kg lift) and Brahmacharimayum Nimi (65 kg lift) won gold medals in the sub-junior girls 63 kg and 76 kg category competitions as Irom Indrani (30 kg lift), Soraisham Ibetombi (30 kg lift) and Salam Lena (45 kg lift) bagged gold medals in the 47 kg, 52 kg and 84 kg category competitions of Masters-3 group.
In the Masters-4 competitions, Memtombi (30 kg lift), Th Subadani (30 kg lift) and RK Sanatombi (30 kg lift) won gold medals in the 57 kg, 63 kg and 69 kg categories.
Masters team were crowned champions in the equipped competition as Salam Lena bagged best lifter title in the Masters-3 category, Heikrujam Memtombi was named best lifter in Masters 4 category.
