Chandel 2nd Divn Football TournamentRucho nets four as Chandel Christian YC beat Cheengkhu YC 6-3

IMPHAL, Dec 1 : WNG Rucho scored four goals alone in Chandel Christian YC's 6-3 victory over Cheengkhu YC at Sports Complex Chandel to go top of Pool D table in the ongoing DC Chandel Trophy Second Division Football Tournament.
Chandel Christian YC started the game on a bright note and eased to a 4-1 first half lead with ST Sellohring scoring the opener in the 4th minute, HT Kophahring scoring the second after 10 minute and WNG Rucho netting his first two goals in the 22nd and the 36th minutes. The only goal for Cheengkhu YC was scored by Angkesh in the 27th minute.
Angkesh made it 2-4 in with his second goal after 73rd minute but WNG Rungcho netted two goals back to back in the 77th and the 79th minutes to make it 6-2 before Thumpa pulled back another goal for the losing one minute from time.
The other Pool D match staged at the same venue ended in a 2-2 draw as SK Shetringam (26') and DB Rengam (58') scored for Angkhel Chayang YCC and Kovirpar (28') and Kenish (56') found the target for Penaching YDC.
In a Pool B match staged at Liwa Sarei Ground, Charangching Khunou YC registered their first win in three matches by crushing Morning Star YCC 6-0 thanks to a treble from Mishra (23', 54', 70') after Rengam opened the scoring two minutes into the game. Bungthot (21', 63') also added twice to help Charangching Khunou YCC seal the comfortable win.
The Pool B match between Monsang Pantha YCC and Modi CSC staged later at the same venue ended in a goalless draw.
Meanwhile in a Group C match staged at Sports Complex Chandel, Chakpikarong YC brushed aside Heibunglok YCC 5-1 as LH Tankhel (10', 42', 60', 85') shone with four goals and BD Abba added one in the 80th minute.
The lone goal for the losing team was scored by Th Borningthung in the 43rd minute.
