37th National Games medallists Ruban, Sophia, Hemash feted

IMPHAL, Dec 2
Sanasam Sagei Apunba Shemgat Sagatpa Lup, Manipur today feted National Games medallists from the same clan Sanasam Ruban, Sanasam Sophia and Sanasam Hemash in a simple function held at Wangkhei Thangjam Leikai yesterday in the presence of Sanasam Bira, ex-MLA Kumbi AC as chief guest and Dr Sanasam Shantikumar Singh, general secretary of Gymnastics Federation of India as guest of honour, said the lup/body in a statement.
Gymnasts Ruban who won a gold medal in the vaulting house event and a silver medal in the floor exercise event at the recent National Games, Sophia Chanu who clinched a gold medal in pencak silat competition and Hemash who bagged a silver medal in fencing (foil) competition were feted with cash, shawls and mementoes at the occasion, it said.
The athletes were further encouraged to achieve more in bigger events in the near future, the lup continued.
