Start Up Summit launched

IMPHAL, Feb 1 : A 2-day North East Start-up Showcase Summit 1.0 was launched at the Manipur Technology Innovation Hub, IT Park at Mantripukhri today.
The start-up summit is being jointly organised by the Department of Information & Technology, Government of Manipur and the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology-Technology Business Incubator (KIIT-TBI) Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Health and Information Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan attended the launch of the summit as chief guest.
A total of 55 start-ups including 50 from the North East region and 5 from other regions of the country are participating in the summit and showcasing their products.
Information Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan said Chief Minister N Biren Singh takes the start-up scheme very seriously and the summit is being organised to promote the start-ups and entrepreneurs.
The summit is also providing the opportunity to the start-ups to showcase their products and gain exposure, he said.
Through the summit, the home grown start-ups will be able to share and exchange their innovative ideas with others. This will be very beneficial, he added.
Information & Technology Director N Deben, who was also present at the event said the start-up scheme has been successful in Manipur.
The 2-day summit will encourage the start-ups and also enable the Department of Information and Technology identify areas where it can help them, he said.
CEO KIIT-TBI Dr Mrutyunjay Suar and Head of TBI Dr Namrata Misra were present at the event.
