NAPSA, LCCC cruise to second victories in Veteran T-20 Cricket tourney

IMPHAL, Feb 1 : NAPSA-Kha Imphal and LCCC-Lilong Chajing cruised to second Group B victories in the ongoing 10th Manipur Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament at Luker Ground.
In the first match of the day, KCC-Kongba won the toss and elected to bat first. They were however bundled out for 91 runs in 20 overs with Symon wrecking havoc with a three wicket haul (3/28) and Puthiba and Ratan claiming two wickets each.
Bonny with 27 runs was the highest run getter for KCC today.
In the chase, Sanjoy (2/12), Bonny (2/16) gave NAPSA a tough time early on but, Ibobi and Ratan's identical 19 guided the team to winning 92 for 6 wickets in 18.2 overs.
Symon who picked three wickets and added 16 runs was named man of the match.
Later in the day, LCCC posted a total of 124 runs for 5 after electing to bat first and bowled out Model Club to 99 within 18.1 overs.
Satyajit scored the highest 29 runs (not out) for LCC followed by Gulshan 24 and Rakesh 17 in their innings which saw Iboyaima (2/20) and Saratchandra (3/27) share five wickets.
In the chase, Suresh smacked 43 off 24 balls but wickets kept falling before NAPSA slumped to 99 all out as Krishna ripped apart their line up claiming four crucial wickets.
LCCC's Akbar also picked two wickets to stem the Model Club implode.
L Krishna of LCCC was eventually adjudged man of the match.
