13th Shaheed Manoranjan Memorial Football tourney from February 4

The 13th edition of Shaheed Manoranjan Memorial Football Tournament is set to begin from February 4 at SAI Sports Complex, Takyel.
The tournament is organised by 143 Bn CRPF in honour of late Asst Comdt Ng Manoranjan of Yurembam who made supreme sacrifice while fighting Naxalites in Chhattisgarh in 2009.
This edition of the tournament, to be organised on knock-out basis, is set to feature 24 teams drawn from Manipur State League and top division district leagues.
The tournament carries a winners prize of Rs 3 lakh for the winners and Rs 2 lakh for runners up besides Rs 10,000 cash prize each for highest goal scorer, best goalkeeper, best player of the tournament, man of the final match.
As per a statement issued by Commandant of 143 CRPF, the organiser is also set to bear bus fare/TA/match match of Rs 3,000 for Imphal based teams and Rs 5,000 each for clubs from other parts of the State.
The teams which will be vying for top honours of the tournament are AMOFA-Moirang; CFA-Chingmeirong; F4C-Saikul; KSC-Kangpokpi; USA-Khurai; YPHU-Lalambung; SU-Sagolband Moirang Leirak; RAU-Lairikyengbam Leikai; MA-Kangpokpi; NESU-Khurai Thangjam Leikai; KLASA FC-Keinou; MPSC-MPTC Pangei; SSU-Singjamei Kakwa; NACO- Nambul Mapal; NEROCA FC-Sangakpham; DMRAO- Sekmai; Imphal United-Awang Sekmai; SAI-Takyel; Polo FC-Chingarel; ESU-Wangkhei; KFA-Kangpokpi; SYMROPIA-Churachandpur; GDC-Thinungei and RFCC FC-Keinou.
