SAPO sticks to diktat : Car torched

Senapati, Feb 1 : Marking the second such incident of alleged vehicle burning, volunteers of Southern Angami  Public Organization (SAPO) reportedly burnt the vehicle of a Mao citizen from Manipur on the evening of January 30.
According to reliable sources, a Mao citizen travelling with his son in an Alto car was intercepted by SAPO volunteers at Kezo town area under Kezocha PS in Kohima district.
The victims were reportedly trying to cross over to Mao through Kedima village when the incident occurred.
According to the victim,  SAPO volunteers demanded the father and son to disembark from their Alto car. Following this, they were shifted to a different vehicle which later dropped them at the border area of Mao and Nagaland.
Later, sources informed that SAPO volunteers took the Alto car to an undisclosed location and burnt it beyond repair.
Meanwhile, a complaint has been lodged at Kezoltsa PS under South Kohima in this regard.
Till the time of filing this report, Nagaland Police has not arrested any person involved nor registered any FIR against the SAPO volunteers.
