AKSDO to play NAPSA in 7th MNCA Plate Tournament final

IMPHAL, Feb 2 : AKSDO Khangabok will square off against NAPSA Kha-Imphal in the final of the 7th MNCA Plate Tournament.
AKSDO made their way to the final by sealing a narrow 1 wicket win over NCA Ningthoukhong in the second semi-final of the tournament at Model Higher Secondary & Oriental College Ground, today.
Opted to bat first, the Ningthoukhong side knocked 128 in 34.1 overs and the target was chased by AKSDO (131/9) in 34.1 overs with one wicket remaining.
In the closely contested semi-final match, Saikhom Kaiku Singh of AKSDO did some fine bowling as he single-handedly dismissed four wickets of the opponent with an economy of 2.00. He gave only two boundaries in eight overs.
Majority of the batsmen of the losing side performed poorly in the first innings as more than half of the total runs of the team was struck by right handed Roshan Konthoujam who smashed 76 runs off 104 deliveries. Only two other batsmen of NCA scored double digit runs - Angom Robinhood (12 runs) and Shinoj Khwairakpam (10 runs) while four of their team-mates didn't make any runs.
AKSDO completed the chase in 34.1 overs.
In the chase, Bishorjit Mangang and Winchelly  Laishram of the Khangabok side knocked 34 runs each and they were the highest scorers of AKSDO.
At least three bowlers of NCA fell three wickets each in the second innings and they are Chourjeet RK, Sushil Moirangthem and L Sadananda.
Notably, NAPSA-Kha Imphal defeated SSU-Singjamei by 3 wickets to seal a place in the 7th MNCA Plate Tournament final and earned promotion to superplate group next season, yesterday.
