IMPHAL, Feb 2 : Khwairakpam Dhanamanjuri won a silver medal in kayaking on Day 4 of the 5th Khelo India Youth Games 2022-23 underway at Madhya Pradesh while Manipur beat Bihar 7-0 in U-18 Girls Football Competition.
The Youth Games which began on January 30 last under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Sports Authority of India will culminate on February 11.
Dhanamanjuri  won the silver medal in the women's 500m sprint event by finishing the course in 2:26:40.
 Meanwhile, Manipur started the campaign of the 5th Khelo India U-18 Girls Football Competition with a win as they beat Bihar 7-0 in a one sided match at Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh, today.
The State team dominated the match from the starting whistle as L Bibicha Devi alone netted 4 goals while her team-mates contributed three more before the final whistle ended the match in favour of Manipur.
L Bibicha opened the account for Manipur in the 4th minute before she scored two consecutive goals in the 28th and 30th minute.
The first half ended 3-0 in favour of Manipur.
Despite leading the game, the Manipur side didn't slow down and played defensive but continued to overwhelm the defence of Bihar and scored four more goals.
Remi Thokchom scored the first goal of the second half in the 54th minute while her team-mates L Bibicha Devi (59'), K Anju Devi (89') and Romina Begum (90+') struck the three other goals and gave Manipur the big win.
Manipur will play Haryana  on February 4, 2023.
In boxing, another three pugilists from the State including one woman  have advanced to the semi-final round today, assuring at least three more medals for Manipur.
The three pugilists who have made it to the last four rounds are Melody (women 63 kg event), Lamnganba Mangang Leichombam (men 54 kg event) and Moirangthem Chinglemba  (men 63.5 kg event).
