IMPHAL, Mar 25 : SCCC-Singjamei beat Model Club-Chingamakha by 20 runs for the second win while REYS-Nagamapal prevailed by 62 runs against MPSC in today's matches of the ongoing 7th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament today.
With the results, REYS climbed to fourth place in the table while sending MPSC to 10th and SCCC are still in the relegation zone (11th place) and will require to win both the remaining matches to avoid relegation.
At Khangabok Part III Cherapur Public Ground, SCCC registered 173 runs for 8 in allotted 28 overs courtesy a half century knock from Lishan Meitei (59 off 60) and a slow but remarkable 45 from Jaali Ahmed Chisti and bowled out Model Club for 153 runs in 27 overs for the win.
Somorjit Salam struck three wickets for 34 runs in 6 overs in SCCC's innings as Sunil Salam, Dibak Naorem and Roberstson Laishram claimed a wicket each.
In reply, Model Club faltered badly despite Thoudam Deepak's 32, Bipinkumar Langpoklakpam's 29 and Somorjit Salam's 24 and slumped to 153 all out.
Basant and Lishan Khaidem of SCCC shared two wickets each in this innings as Sandeep Chakraborty, Rakeshwor Republic Hidangmayum and Oinam Pradeep clinched a wicket apiece to set up the batting collapse.
Khaidem Lishan who shone with a half century and picked two wickets was adjudged man of the match.
Elsewhere at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, REYS were bundled out for 218 runs in 37.1 overs after electing to bat first but the bowling department produced impeccable performances to cut MPSC's chase short at 156 within 33 overs.
Sougrakpam Shangkar starred with a quickfire 51 off 34 to give REYS early flourish before the team stutter and Paul Zomi (49 off 60 balls) and Yungkham Romario (44 off 30 balls) came late to steer the team past the 200 run mark.
Keisham Kenedy of MPSC enjoyed a three wicket haul (3/25) including Shangkar's wicket in this innings as Maibam Bijoykumar, Sarangthem Sangker and Soubam Kingson shared two wickets each.
Chasing 219 runs for the win, MPSC had a dismal start and to end the innings at 156 runs despite Potsangbam Bonem blazing off 46-ball 62 (8 fours and 1 six) as Yungkham Romario claimed four key wickets to return with the best bowling figures of 4/38 in 8 overs while Kiran Laishram added teeth to the bowling attack with three scalps.
Yungkham Romario who produced an allround performance to lead REYS to a big win was eventually adjudged man of the match.
CRAU will play CHAMP in the next match tomorrow at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
