KCC cruise to 4th win on trot in 2nd MNCA Superplate Tournament

IMPHAL, Mar 29 : KCC-Kongba Bazar eased to fourth Group B win in the 2nd MNCA Superplate Tournament with a comfortable 5 wicket thrashing of PSC-Khuyathong today at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak.
PSC won the toss and opted to bat first but were bundled out for a paltry total of 135 runs in 29.5 overs by KCC who chased down the target in 21.5 overs.
For PSC, Kharaijam Sagarjit top-scored with painstakingly slow 87-ball 40 while Laimayum Prasantajit Sharma and Thokchom Lellel added 32 and 28 runs each.
Yumnam Sheiteendra and Hijam Boba of KCC shared two wickets each in this innings as Wahengbam Somorjit, Singthoi Singh Nandeibam and Chumthao Dk earned a wicket apiece.
In reply, KCC had a positive start and rode on a 52-run third wicket partnership between Kisan (28) and Nongmaithem Dijiraj (31) within 17.4 overs to inch closer to the victory.
Nameirakpam Arbin  (24 not out) and Keisham Basantakumar (4 not out) then took the honour to help KCC post a winning total of 138 runs for 5 in 21.5 overs.
Ningthoujam Ranjan and Moirangthem Thomas of PSC were able to claim two wickets each in a lost cause.
Hijam Boba who picked two wickets and scored 7 runs in the chase was adjudged man of the match.
TCMDC will play KSDO in the next match tomorrow.
