IMPHAL, Mar 31 : Mutum Swabhiman picked up three wickets and struck an unbeaten ton to guide TRAU to a commanding 10-wicket win over YUCC in an all-Kwakeithel Group C clash of the ongoing 2nd MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament at PCC ground, Mayaikoibi.
TRAU chose wisely to field first and bowled out YUCC for 168 runs in 22 overs through three wicket feats from TRAU skipper Swabhiman (3/27) and Tyrus Chabungbam (3/33) and cruised to winning 171 for no loss in just 15.5 overs off a blistering 56-ball 111from Swabhiman and Tyrus Chabungbam's 24.
M Ricky scored an impressive 38-ball 71 for YUCC but they failed to stand against disciplined bowling performances of TRAU bowlers. Preethson Arubam, Potsangbam Jeet, Arubam Rohit and Sushanta Sanjenbam of TRAU also managed a wicket each to help wrap up the innings within 22 overs.
In reply, Swabhiman clobbered 11 fours and 11 sixes on the way to his best figure of 111 while Tyrus struck 6 fours before sealing the huge victory.
Swabhiman deservedly earned the man of the match trophy.
Elsewhere at PTRC Ground, Patsoi Part IV, TCMDC kicked off their Group D campaign with an overwhelming 261 run victory over TCMDC who had to chase down the target of 334 runs in 26 overs (four over penalty).
Takhellambam Nganba starred with his bat by finding the fence 30 times, 25 fours and 5 sixes, on the way to his unbeaten 168 (off 104 balls) to take TCMDC to 333 runs along with Chandrashekar Sharma (51) for the unbeaten fourth wicket partnership.
Ng Nongpoknganba, Indrakumar Sanjenbam and Kabir Konjengbam of RULE picked up a wicket each in this innings before their chase failed horribly and slumped at 72 for 9.
Vishonath Laishram led the TCMDC bowling attack and returned with the best figures of 4/21 in 6 overs followed by Moirangthem Romesh who clinched 3 wickets for 31 runs in 3 overs.  Moramba Meitei and Yumnam Tomthinganba also picked up a wicket each to cut short the RULE innings at 16.5 overs.
Takhellembam Nganba who shone with a masterful knock of 168 runs was adjudged man of the match.
