IMPHAL, Mar 31: Padmashree Awardee Kakchingtabam Sanathoiba Sharma has asserted that Thang-Ta will exist so long as humanity remains in existence.
Thang-Ta is deeply entrenched in our community and cannot be separated from it, he added.
Sanathoiba was speaking at the "Production of Anisuba Sajen Kanglon" organised by Huyen Lalong Manipur Thang-Ta Cultural Association Irilbung held at the auditorium of the Association.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director of Huyen Lalong Manipur Thang-Ta Cultural Association continued to say that Thang-Ta is the soul of Meitei society.
Not only was this martial art form used to defend the kingdom of Manipur in olden days, but it is also an invaluable part of the culture and tradition of Manipur, he maintained.
Other dignitaries present at the event include Professor H Amujao, Principal, DSAC Irilbung and Okram Manglem Meetei, president, Apunba Manipur Huyen Lalong Lup.
