IMPHAL, Mar 31: The people of Chanam Sandrok, Imphal East have demanded punishment of all the erring Government officials involved in enlisting four non-residents of the village in the electoral roll and the PMJAY beneficiaries’ list.
Speaking to media persons at Gamma Ray Club, Chanam Sandrok today, the club’s general secretary Mutum Ajitkumar said that a joint meeting of the Centre for Human Rescuer, Meitei Inat Semgat Lup, Gamma Ray Club and local Meira Paibis was held regarding the media report about insertion of four ‘outsiders’ in the PMJAY beneficiaries’ list and the electoral roll of Chanam Sandrok.
The meeting took strong exception to the unscrupulous act of the Government officials concerned, Ajitkumar said.
It remains a big question as to who, why and how the four non-residents were included in the electoral roll and the PMJAY beneficiaries’ list, he said.
The authority concerned must take up befitting action in order to avoid such blunders in the future and the Government officials involved in committing such outrageous blunders must be awarded exemplary punishment, he asserted.
Speaking on behalf of all the local clubs of Keirao AC, United Youth Organisation, Langdum general secretary Rupachandra Chongtham urged all concerned not to enlist people who come from outside the State in the electoral roll of Keirao AC.
BLOs, Zilla Parishads, Pradhans and Ward Members should refrain from such unscrupulous activities, Rupachandra said.
