YOSC, Sagolband United into Shirui Lily Cup semis

IMPHAL, Mar 31 : YOSC-Khurai and Sagolband United advanced to the semi-finals of the 30th Shirui Lily Cup National Level Football Tournament 2022-23.
YOSC defeated KSC by 4-3 goals on penalties after a 2-2 stalemate in the regulation time of the first quarter final match today at Ukhrul district Hqrs ground.
Daniel scored a brace for YOSC-Khurai before halftime but his efforts went in vain as KSC rallied back in the second half and drew level through two back to back goals from Seilenlal (72') and Seigoumang (75').
As the two sides failed to find the difference in the remaining minutes, the game was decided by penalty shoot-out where the Khurai team emerged victorious by 4-3 goals. In the shoot-out, Kharshok, Naocha, Sabir and Rohit found the target for the winners while only Seigoumang, C Seilenlal and Lamkholen were on target for KSC.
Later in the second quarter final match, Sagolband United saw off LYCC by a slender 1-0 margin.
The lone goal which earned SU the semi-final berth was scored by Binan in the 22nd minute.
NERAU will play KLASA, Keinou in the third quarter final match tomorrow from 12 noon before NESU face off against United Brothers FC from 2 pm in the last quarter final match.
