State Muay Thai team for Chennai National Championship named

IMPHAL, May 20 : The All Manipur Muay Thai Lovers and Players Organisation has announced the names of players who will be representing Manipur at the UMAI Muaythai National Championship 2023 to be held in Chennai from May 26 to 30.
The players as named in a release issued by the organisation based at Changangei are as follows.
Sub-Junior Boys (10-11 years) : Khundrakpam Malemnganba (35 kg), Mutum Dhanish (39 kg), Naorem Leegardson (51 kg) and Leitanthem Bikash (67 kg).
Sub-Junior Boys (14-15 years) : Konthoujam Jirankumar (62 kg), Paikhombam Khangembam (47 kg), Prithiviraj Sarangthem (75 kg), Koijam Malemnganba (114 kg).
Junior boys/Youth (16-17 years) : Thokchom Birjit (54 kg), Khundrakpam Stelin (57 kg), Moirangthem Jenith (57 kg), Pebam Kishan (59 kg), Hanjabam Ashajit (67 kg), Toijam Khutheiba (67 kg), Nongmeikapam Thoungambam (71 kg), Norbert Chara (75 kg), Khundrakpam Rodrick (86 kg).
18-23 years male : Nongthombam Oasis (55 kg), Baremron Daniel (60 kg), Sagolshem Moramba (60 kg), Chinglemba Ningombam (64 kg), Bedanta Puyam (71 kg).
18-23 years female : Khundrakpam Lanchenbi (47 kg), Ngangom Rameshwari (48 kg), Brahmacharimayum Tamphasana (51 kg), Pari Achsah (54 kg), Jenista Ningombam (57 kg) and Ahongshangbam Alina Devi (60 kg).
Senior/Elite Male : Laishram Bidyachandra (57 kg), Ashem Tondonba (60 kg), Sapam Lamyanba (64 kg), Joelianlallum Suantak (67 kg), Yenshembam Shivaji (67 kg), Likmabam Suraj (57 kg), Alva Ngangkham (67 kg) and Khumanthem Gilber (71 kg).
Senior/Elite Female : Wangkhem Riona (54 kg).
Yendrembam Sanajaoba and Ayekpam Sankar were also named respectively as team manager and head coach who will be accompanying the team while Laishram Bidyachandra and Golmei Nanao Kabui were named as assistant coaches. Thoi Chanu Khundrakpam who is a National referee will also be a part of the State team.
Players above 18 years who secured gold medals in this National championship will be able to attend India team trials for the Asian Games due to be held from September 23 to October 8 in Hangzhou, China, the release said.
The 41- member State team will be leaving for the Chennai National event on May 23.
