State Masters powerlifting team trial on May 25

The All Manipur Powerlifting Association will be conducting State team trial on May 25 for the National Masters Equipped and Classic powerlifting Championships at PBBPTC, Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai.
The National championship is due to be held from July 12 to 16 at GMR Institute of Technology, Rajam, Vizianagaram District, Andhra Pradesh, said the association in a press note.
Interested lifters should bring their age proof certificates while reporting on the trial date. Weigh-in will start at 8 am sharp, the association said while urging all concerned to be present at the trial venue in time.
Mention may be made that the National championship, which was earlier fixed to be held in Agartala, will see athletes compete in four age categories viz- Masters 1 (40 -49 years), Masters 2 (50-59 years), Masters 3 (60-69 years) and Masters 4 (Born on or before 1952).
The championship will also serve as a selection platform for the Indian team preparation for the World Masters Classic Powerlifting Championship to be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from October 8 to 12.
