Senior Citizens For Society, Moirang raises demands

Urging the State and Central Government to arrive at a speedy resolution for the present crisis, Senior Citizens For Society, Moirang has made numerous demands while noting the vulnerable position of the area.
A statement issued by Dr O Gouro Singh, secretary, Senior Citizens For Society, Moirang has, first of all, appealed to the State and Central Government to prevent/control the "communal violence immediately". They also called for containment of SoO cadres at their designated camps and disarming them. Aside from this, Senior Citizens For Society, Moirang appealed to the relevant authority to provide adequate food, water, clothing, cash and healthcare to the victims of communal violence who have been displaced from their homes and are currently seeking shelter at relief camps.
Some other of their demands include immediate sanction and release of ex-gratia to bereaved families of people who have lost their lives, sanction and release of compensation to persons/families of injured, displaced and shelterless without delay, rehabilitation of victims as soon as possible, resettlement of persons/families who have been rendered homeless by violence/arson in a time bound manner and lastly to provide special/truncated education package/programs for students deprived of education of both primary and secondary level.
