BSF refutes, clarifies

IMPHAL, May 30: The Border Security Force has clarified that no commotion broke out between its personnel and Manipur commandos and they didn't interfere in any operation of the latter. The BSF was reacting to reports that some commando personnel were interrupted by BSF personnel when they were about to engage some militants who had ambushed them at a village along Nongpok Keithelmabi-Itham Moirangpurel stretch. Over the phone, a high ranking officer of the BSF said such incidents did not take place anywhere. While the BSF is actively engaging in efforts being taken up to contain the violence at present and providing assistance to the State forces, such "false" reports may affect the morale of the troops, the officer said.
