BISHNUPUR, May 30: As the State continues to bear the brunt of the ongoing conflict, sit-in protests were staged at Moirangkhunou and Moirang Lamkhai under Bishnupur district today.
At Moirangkhunou, the protest was scattered in various areas and organised by KYDA Moirangkhunou, SEVA Moirang Khunou Mayai Leikai and SAYA Moirangkhunou Mayai Leikai.
An unnamed protestor at Moirang Lamkhai opined that enforcing NRC in Manipur would be the optimal solution to the prevailing crisis.
She also touched upon the deteriorating mental condition of relief camp inmates who have lost their livelihoods and their homes. The protestor also attributed the conflict to poppy cultivation and urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to bring about a farsighted permanent resolution.
